well I've got the v type bass painted (apart from top coat)the colour looks ok (lake placid blue)and for a first attempt at spraying a full guitar body its fair to shite. Won't be doing another one that's for sure

Now, seven coats of lacquer, 1200 grit colour sand wet and dry then buff like you mean it, a Fender colour on a Gibson body is a bit novel though

Seven coats of nitro should have it done by Christmas.

And you won't even have to paint on your own polka dots

I was thinking about putting a couple of black patterns/motifs on it after all it is the body I used to try different parts on and it was gonna go in bin so to me it's still an experiment and if it goes tits up, no worries

Second thoughts, no black patterns gonna put some of the spare parts that I have lying around on it. gonna use mm style pups that came with the kit, a Fender Tele 2 saddle bass bridge I bought for a project and never used, didn't realise it was string through body when I bought it, possibly thunderbird type wiring and some chrome Gibson style skirted knobs which I've found on ebay for £7. that's the plan I think
