Is the Db tuning on the “E string” to allow for the bend? You could play this tuned a half step down, except that bend would be really hard at the first fret. (I may sacrifice the bend to not have to retune just to play this song).

Not just for the sake of the bend (which, yes, would be MUCH harder on the first fret) but also for the slide down from the 3rd fret in the pre-verses, pre-choruses and outro. I know it's not crystal clear, but he is indeed sliding down in those sections.
