During my few years of playing, I've been on the verge of throwing in the towel and just putting my bass away. I would like to thank my parents and little brother for putting up with me. My friends and Guitar friends for always giving me a challenge to work on to make me better. Lastly I would like to thank my girlfriend for her unconditional support and always having my back, and for all the help she adds when I write a song and she hammers out the lyrics and sings them. And for never letting me give up and forcing me to keep with it.

Sounds like you have a really good positive support system around you. The fact that you recognise this & appreciate their support only makes you a better person aswell as a better musician.

I couldn't of done everything I have without them. My family is amazing. And as for my girl, well let's just say she's my rock in this profession I have chosen. Who would you like to thank Softcell?

Good thread BassGuy1, nice to see you have support for what you do. Softcell62 summed it up nicely
Yeah.

Family is very important. Even though I don't work in music (but I wish I did) my family give me such support with everything I do at work & at home. Money can't buy that!
Agreed. Don't feel to bad about not having a career in music. Hell, I'm making pizzas for a living until my music career takes off. What's everyone else's support system they would like to thank?

I would like to thank my wife. She surprised me with bass lessons for my 60th birthday. I have been frustrated, and ready to give it up, but her support has helped me get through the learning curve. She even hates my music, but lets me play my songs. Bass is something I have wanted to pursue for 50 years. Now if I could find someone to play with….

Hahaha my friend's parents! My amp shakes the whole damn house! And my friend is a drummer. Loud as hell combination. And my mom because she knows all the old Metallica and Mötley Crüe stuff so when I play it she can tell me what needs to be fixed

I never get frustrated over this kind of thing and the thought of throwing in the towel on my bass, or my guitar, or any of my hobbies, has never occurred to me. So I'd like to thank myself for being so supportive of me.
It's great to see I'm not alone when it comes to a good suport system.

Sorry for not answering your question earlier Bassguy1. I would just like to thank my Family for when I was growing up, they got me through some difficult times. Now I'd like to thank my Partner who has helped me maintain a happy & trying to be health lifestyle! I've had a tough journey mainly for personal reasons but I've survived. In the darker days music was always a great salvation, especially Soft Cell. Marc's lyrics just spoke to me, almost telling my life story at times. Music is a great healer!
