Seems ok to me, walking blues in G, in its simplest form. Is your bass correctly tuned? I tried it in drop D just in case but its defo standard E A D G
OK thanks all, I'll check my tuning etc and have a better listen as to what the bass is supposed to sound like, it may be different to what I expected all this time, I'm just a 6 month newbie and am lovin this bass, should have started years ago, cheers.
Actually, Black Velvet is a really good song to learn, there are no tabs for it on here, probably cos its ‘Too Easy’, but it has two finger exercise while maintaining a steady tempo, and the descending triplets are an essential part of any bassists arsenal
I've had Black Velvet on my to-do list for months, I just never get around to it. As for Drop D – no, not required. Drop D is standard tuning with only the 4th string tuned down a full step. Black Velvet is in Eb tuning (aka E-Flat tuning) which is all four strings tuned down 1/2 step.
