What are some fun bass lines?

So I am looking for some fun moderately easy bass lines. A little background info is that I have been playing for about a year all self taught and I am not too good. I can play basic stuff like sunshine of your love and seven nation army but thats all that seemed fun to me. When it comes to music preference I lean toward punk and metal with bands like nofx, dead kennedys, the casualties, operation ivy, I really like star fucking hipsters, leftover crack, choking victim, and morning glory. With metal it is stuff like sabbath, old metallica, motorhead, anthrax, slayer, pantera, gorgoroth, mayhem, celtic frost, ect…ect.. I appreciate any recommendations you have and look forward to playing some new stuff.

The Pixies-Monkey Gone to Heaven

Nirvana-Lithium

Stone Roses-I Wanna Be Adored

simple and fun
I've only been playing since June - the first thing I learned was Seven Nation Army and Sunshine of Your Love and those are my fall-backs when I'm getting frustrated trying to learn something new. Another good one is Cocaine, which is mostly Sunshine of Your Love in slightly different order but it's fun to crank up Clapton and play along. Another one that I like is Guns of Brixton by The Clash. It's a reggae tune and you're a punk/metal guy, but it's got a really cool groove to it. Also, a fun but easy play-along that I like is Ball and Chain by Social Distortion - there are actually a lot of great 3 chord Social Distortion songs that are just fun to plunk on, Bad Luck is another good one.

and as for Dead Kennedys - Viva Las Vegas

Bulls on Parade by RATM, Repeat by Grinspoon and Lithium by Nirvana are fairly easy to learn and easy to play but not mindnumbingly boring or tedious.Iron Man by Sabbath is instantly recognized by most people but the solo and outro may take some considerably chops to play.If you can handle the speed Forest Fire, Viva Las Vegas, and Pull My Strings all by the Dead Kennedys are relatively simple. And if you liked Sunshine of Your Love almost anything else by Cream is good to learn as Jack Bruce usually keeps(kept?) it pretty simple.

Most anything by The Cult - not quite along your musical preferences, but in the ballpark and may be worth a quick listen. My warm-up song is usually She Sells Sanctuary (YouTube link below). It's hard to call it a riff, as it's very simple, but once my fingers get in gear with the basic bass line I can play all kinds of things over it - scales, different rhythms, scales in different rhythms, whatever. Both tabs here are right - they're the same, one just gives more song structure.

Or go big with the long version (the exact same bass line, just more of it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAdRCUsqg-U

Another good one is Warning from Green Day:

Very simple, and a good finger exercise. The (Ver 2) tab here is spot on and the easiest to follow. It's also a good song for working on using a pic if you don't play with one already.

Looks like we like about the same stuff. I started just over five years ago. I'm self-taught too. Why not have a look at my YouTube channel… https://www.youtube.com/user/ThunderBassist

I play pentatonic scales when feeling uninspired.

Like those ones but I start lowr on the neck G or F#, just play about till I find a riff or lick.
