So I’m just starting to get into slap bass and I discovered it is popular with funk music and so I have decided I would like to try learn some funky bass lines and scales. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would really help. Thanks

Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers is a given. His bass lines for their cover of Higher Ground, and his work on Young MC's Bust a Move and Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know are full of slap-and-pop. Also check out some of these bands:

Sly and the Family Stone
Earth, Wind and Fire
The Gap Band
Parliament Funkadelic
Hot Chocolate
The Brothers Johnson
Fishbone

To name just a few.
