Playing while watching T.V.

I was watching Austin City limits tonight with Robert Plant while I was practising. He played a really cool song but I couldn't hear the bass so I started to screw around with the vibe of the tune and made my own bass line for it while watching. I am sure it was nothing close to what the bass player was doing. I couldn't hear him anyway. They like to shove bass players to the back like they don't matter. Boo Hiss. I just went with the feel of the song and came up with a whole new riff. Sounds good. I will post that too one day when they make a page. I did the same thing for the Hunger Games movie for hanging tree. Didn't hear any bass. So I came up with my own. I did a search on here and someone already had a version. Good on them! Mine is a little different. I even screw around with music from commercials if I am practising and bored and watching TV at the same time. Do you guys do this or am I just weird? Most times I just practice with no distraction. But sometimes I want to watch a movie and play guitar at the same time. So I do both. I play at commercials and if there happens to be a catchy tune on, one that I like I will try and play it or follow along and make my own. It beats the hell out of just sitting there watching the lame ass ads on TV. I play along or mute and practice until the commercials are over. Multitask I say. I don't like to put my bass down. I take it everywhere. And because of that my girlfriend is finally getting used to the three of us in bed. But she likes Ric in the middle and it kind of makes me jealous. I am not sure I like Ric in back her.

Every day i sit and play all 4 of my basses,wether im looking up tabs,or jamming to backing tracks,if im at home my bass is in my hands

Same as me. I always seem to have the bass in my hands and If I don't I am always thinking about picking it up. I was just shooting the shit and cracking a joke about the Ric in back her if you guys didn't get it. I know lame. I played about 3 hours this night and came up with a riff I really like. I am going to work on it some more. I am going to ask for a original riffs page over and over so I can post some of these. Or until they say hit the road jack and don't ya come back no more. No more.
