Don't get wrapped up in learning theory. It's beneficial if you're writing music, but I really don't think it's that important to bass. It has its place, and it's always good to understand the science behind things.

But like Marko said, don't let the numbers of tabs confuse the language of theory on you.

Get comfortable with your bass first. Then you can dabble in theory.
Great advice guys, really appreciate the time taken to post. Im going to get stuck into learning more songs.

I have a catalogue of songs im slowly learning of by heart which i really enjoy doing. Every morning i play for 40 min before i go to work.

Ok so im off to enjoy the bass, ill be in touch.

Cheers guys

Andy
