Alberta is beautiful, but they are having a tough go of things right now as their economy has slowed considerably. The scene in Calgary/Edmonton is largely metal. Finding decent affordable housing can be an issue.

Montreal is a cool city but there isn't much opportunity there for work and if you don't speak French finding work will be much more difficult. Housing is affordable. Lots of clubs though.

Toronto has a decent scene and the city is booming. The major downfall with Toronto is the cost of living. Average cost of a home is around a million bucks. If you rent you are looking at $1200 - $1300 for a one bedroom apartment in an ok part of the city. In most cases that would not include utilities. I'm thinking only Vancouver would be more expensive.
