Apart from modern music, do you guys listen or jam to classical music?

I like operas mostly and try to play any instrument (bass, guitar, whatever) along just by following my favorites lines (be it vocal or other).

J S Bach is essential listening for the bass guitar, he wrote some amazing bass lines, there are many Bach for Bass Guitar books out there
I hear bits and pieces from time to time but I don't sit down and listen to it.

I am of the opinion that you can groove on the bass next to anything

Yes. I listen to as much classical (baroque and classic period, a little bit of romantic, and a tiny bit of modern, and tiny bit of early) as I do rock/pop/punk/jazz….

Also listen to middle eastern music, both traditional and more modern. It is an acquired taste, I will admit!

I'd like to hear someone bass this one out!

Beethoven allegedly stole the melody for his moonlight sonata…
