Well, 3 basses are tied for my favorite. There are: Fender Jazz Bass, Gibson SG bass, and Epiphone Goth Thunderbird.
I had a warwick thumb 5 which was nice to play but the string spacing was too close. I traded it for a modulus flea 4 and fell in love with it, real easy to play.

why: it has 3 j-style pickups and every one has its own switch of more swiching options than a 5-way switch, it is the perfect weight, verry sensitive pickups, and a smooth satin neck with 21 frets.
That sounds way too complicated, one pick up, one vol, one tone, BOSH
