Warwick builds a 12 string.
I can understand 12 - same idea as the 12 string guitar, sympathetic resonating strings for that cool, shimmery Byrds sound.
(You can get there with only four strings and the right pedal however!)
More than that and I would have to align with Marko that it isn't a bass anymore - some other animal instead. Which could be a good thing - just not a bass so don't call it one!
