Eric Richardson — Echoes of Malagueña bass tabs

Echoes of Malagueña is an original composition written for acoustic bass guitar, 
inspired by the dramatic Spanish character and melodic style of Malagueña.

The piece opens with an original introduction influenced by Arabic and Middle 
Eastern scales before flowing into a recognizable Andalusian—inspired theme.

Rather than serving as accompaniment, the bass takes the lead, exploring melody, 
expression, and dynamic phrasing throughout.

This composition was specifically written for acoustic bass guitar and is 
intended to be played with a pick, as this provides greater projection and 
clarity on an acoustic bass than playing with the fingers alone.

This is not a transcription or arrangement of Malagueña, but an original 
composition that pays tribute to its musical influence while giving the bass 
guitar a leading voice.
