Hard to pick just one. Doug Wimbush for how to groove. Melvin Gibbs for how to be versatile. Billy Sheehan for how to be an overall bass-playing bad ass. Flea for funk. Krist Novoselic for melody and hooks. Muzz Skillings for technical proficiency and speed. Mike Watt for inventive riffs. I could go on.
Flea or McCarteny would be cool, but I'd say John Paul Jones.
