Hard to pick just one. Doug Wimbush for how to groove. Melvin Gibbs for how to be versatile. Billy Sheehan for how to be an overall bass-playing bad ass. Flea for funk. Krist Novoselic for melody and hooks. Muzz Skillings for technical proficiency and speed. Mike Watt for inventive riffs. I could go on.
Flea or McCarteny would be cool, but I'd say John Paul Jones.

James jamerson, i would just tell him hes a badass for coming up with the bassline for “i wAs made to love her” stevie wonder. Story goes he laying on his couch relaxing wit his bass and just started playing. Wtf
